Responsibilities:

• Design and implement comprehensive data strategies on Azure, ensuring optimal data storage, consumption, integration, and management.
• Develop data lakes, warehouses, and other sophisticated data platforms on Azure, leveraging a variety of database technologies.
• Utilize Azure's data services such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Cosmos DB, Data Lake Storage, Data Factory, and Databricks to build scalable solutions.
• Conduct data migrations from diverse database systems to Azure, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
• Monitor and manage the security, performance, and scalability of Azure data services.
• Engage with Azure Stream Analytics for real-time data processing and insights.
• Identify and integrate Azure's AI and machine learning capabilities for advanced analytics.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Azure's data stack, including Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, and Synapse Analytics.
• Strong experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Synapse, and Cosmos DB.
• Practical knowledge of other database technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, IBM Db2, etc.) is a plus.
• Skilled in SQL, Python, or Scala, and familiar with data processing and visualization tools.
• Experience with ARM templates, Azure DevOps, and automation of Azure resources.
• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Capable of effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team.

Optional Skills:

• Experience with non-Azure databases like Amazon RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Redis, and Cassandra would be considered an asset.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
• Azure certification such as Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Committed to lifelong learning and staying abreast of emerging database technologies and Azure updates.
